A fine late-Victorian Chinoiserie tray-top tea table, dating from circa 1880–1900. The piece features a square, deep-rimmed removable wooden tray set upon an authentic organic bamboo stand. The tray surface is finished in a rich black lacquer background, showcasing a traditional hand-painted Kacho-zu (bird and flower) motif executed in vibrant polychrome lacquer shades of burnt red, terracotta, and gold accents. The structural bamboo base features classic out-turned legs secured by a matching perimeter stretcher, providing both stability and period-correct character.
